Bill's South Bend Lathe

On Tuesday, November 4, 2003, I acquired my first and second South Bend Lathes.
They are both Light 10's with different sized beds.  Here they are, still in the back of my van.

One of the lathes came with a 3/4 hp 3 phase motor, and the other had a single phase motor
(haven't gotten to the nameplate on that one yet).

I started working on the Chuck, one tailstock, and the taper attachment.  They have cleaned up pretty good.

As I find the time, I will be working on cleaning up the rest of the lathes.
I have to get a belt, maybe a phase converter for the 3 phase motor, and
some miscellaneous parts to get at least one lathe in working order.
Then it will replace my Sherline (which is only 1½ years old) that turned out to be too small for my needs.
